This September 27, 2017 I will be traveling to Taiwan to perform a concert featuring some of my arrangements/compositions (with other American and Taiwanese musicians/composers/arrangers) in an International Collaboration between the U/S. and Taiwanese artists, composers, and performers. I will be performing my arrangements with some Taiwanese musicians and composers in Taiwan-very excited for the opportunity!
One solo piece I’ll be performing is my new solo guitar arrangement of a Taiwanese Folk Song, re-imagined for electric guitar in a contemporary stye and including extensive reharmonizations. Also, “Bach Visits Taiwan” is a new arrangement in collaboration with US/Taiwanese Composer/Arranger Chien-Tai Chen, based on Bach’s C Minor Prelude, for 3 guitars, bass, choir, and DJ/Remixer, which I will also be performing with top Taiwanese guitarists and musicians. We are hoping to make a Live Concert DVD, and will definitely be recording a full-length CD of the arrangements, with the other performers/arrangers/composers.
“Assistant Professor Wen-wan Chen at Zhong Yuan University invites John Robert Ware Jr., American famous guitarist, to come to Taiwan to perform for the cross-region project “Turning String-Spinning” sponsored and guided by Culture Ministry, HaKa Committee.
Wednesday, September 27, 2017, 7:30pm to 11:00pm. Perform at “International Famous Guitarists” Concert at Taipei Zhongshan Tang Zhongzhen Hall.”
